Nelson and Huinker Hired

Garner, Iowa – Stellar Industries, Inc. is announcing the addition of Lorie Nelson as a Human Resources Generalist and Tom Huinker as a Manufacturing Manager for the North State and Highway 18 locations.
Lorie Nelson - Nelson will be filling the position of Human Resources Generalist.  She will be the liaison in the Kanawha facility reporting there on a weekly basis.  Lorie will be assisting the Human Resources department with recruiting and hiring employees for Stellar locations, onboarding new employees, administering plans and procedures, and other HR functions.
“I’m looking forward to working in my hometown, and learning a new job after spending many years at my previous position,” says Nelson.
Lorie comes to Stellar with many years of experience working in the human resources capacity, most recently at Woodharbor Custom Cabinetry.  She holds a diploma from Hamilton Business College and an associate’s degree from Ellsworth Community College.  She resides in the rural Garner area with her husband Kim.  They have 3 grown children and a granddaughter.  Lorie enjoys spending lots of time with her family in her free time.
Tom Huinker -  Huinker will be filling a new role as Manufacturing Manager at the North State and 675 Highway 18 Locations.   He will direct and manage the manufacturing activities for the American Eagle division and the 675 Highway 18 location to assure that cost, quality, scheduling, personal development, and safety initiatives meet company goals.  He will help with planning and assigning work load, implementing policies and procedures, and recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. 
Tom comes to Stellar with many years of experience working at Eaton Corporation in Belmond.  He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from Buena Vista and is a Six Sigma Greenbelt.  He has held numerous positions in production, quality and engineering.
“I’m looking forward to working for an organization that continues to grow in the marketplace, and that is dedicated to producing quality products and providing excellent service to the customer,” Huinker says.  “I am entering a new industry, so I am also anxious to transfer the skillset I’ve learned in my previous positions into this position.”
Tom and his wife Lisa reside in Garner.  They have 3 daughters and 4 grandchildren.  In his spare time Tom loves to spend time outdoors fishing, golfing and riding bicycle as well as working on home improvement projects.
